In Japan, the declining population of 18-year-olds has led to a shortage of young workers. In particular, the manufacturing and engineering sectors need diverse talent, and the creation of new value from women’s perspectives is highly anticipated. However, the proportion of women in engineering fields in Japan remains below the OECD average of 28%.

To support female students who aspire to careers in science and engineering, and to expand their opportunities, the Faculty of Integrated Environmental Science and Technology has established an admissions category for female applicants only. The Department of Environmental Mathematical and Physical Sciences provides a supportive learning environment in which many female students are actively engaged in their studies. We encourage interested applicants to make use of this admissions system.
